Just to keep you guys up to date too.....
For anyone not on coaltion boards yet there has been the idea of a meet being banded about for awhile. Possibly Edinburgh or Blackpool but we need the input from all the SG's. I can see good things for both tbh but transport says Edinburgh as we have some outta UK ppl but Blackpool is cheap.
Sooo over to you - what u think? will u go? families etc welcomed. When suits etc etc

another late reply i know
but have you thought about somewhere more central england like peterborough, kettering, northampton etc etc.
just a thought as the people that are from england will be a more central location.
But if you do choose between edinburgh or blackpool , personly i would choose blackpool, i go there every year for a weeks holiday and i love theme parks (pleasure beach anyone )

Not sure if it can be read without being a member Doc. But info will still be ferried back as and when anything is said. And it will pick up once I come back full time
Wasp;
None of them are that central when u take into account the various scots, irish and well the swedes, danes etc too and we scots/swedes do need to be taken into account as we are the loudest and well...in charge....(Janet being an honourary Scot) not everyone in the coalition is english either am afraid, as it is most official events and other meets are down south and tis a bit unfair on the rest of us really. So I dont see why we should just consider the english Wasp - sorry. It has to be somewhere that everyone can get to easily and would like not just a few or we'd make it The Black Isle
The final choice came down to Edinburgh - culture - villains - international airport facing scandinavia - good rail and road links - bigger variety of stuff.
Or Blackpool - cheap - cheerful - harder to get to by plane or train - can wish for weather I suppose - beach of sorts - pleasure beach etc.
Both have drawbacks on certain months due to Edin festival or b'pool being a mecca for the brit on holiday.
Once a final date and place are decided by all (not just the english) I will be organising a mini SF style thing (as sugested on boards) to be done over the weekend so its not just a sitting in pub meet.
I, personally would be happy with either but I really dont like the assumption everything has to be in England. _________________ Fairygothmother

I've been to England. I want to try something new dammit
And if it means easier getting to and from there... Well, I wouldn't mind _________________ Style before purpose

Hoots, away wi' ye, hoosomever tal ye tha'
I think I mentioned this earlier, but will be up near the Black Isles later this year so we can do there. (I have a nice picture of me standing outside the road sign for Ardgay, knife in one hand, my other hand trailing from a limp wrist )
And lastly, Edinburgh and villains... if you've never heard of Burke and Hare, look them up. Nice people! _________________ My kind of life don't last, preacher. So I expect I'm invested in making good sport of it whilst I can. - Mal Reynolds: Firefly

My point excactly lol we thought it would be rather appropriate for a ghost walk if thats where we go..... they are but 2 of a very very long list. Mackenzie poltergiest? or how about poor Lady Glamis? Another Janet I think...need to check. My favorite one is Wee Maggie who was hanged for burying her baby and not telling anyone, wel I say hanged - the cartmen stopped for a pint after she was cut down - she sat up on the cart quite alive! Lived for quite a while after I think.
On a side note I had rats called after Burke and Hare - was gonna call the guineas that but settled on Jekyl and Hyde (there is a J and H pub in the new town - rather apt for a villains nights out, would need to see if they have a VIP or back room we could snaffle but I have alternate plans for B'pool just not as villainous lol) _________________ Fairygothmother
