Can someone give me a basic idea of wat the hell these inventions things are ? read a few varied things on forums but im confused

and as anyone who knows me knows when i say basic i mean basic im only a simple lad Laughing

There is probably people that are more into this than me, but I'll give you my two infs.
Invention will let you create your own enhancements. However, they will not work like those which exist today (like +damage, or +defence), but instead they will add properties to the abilities you slot them to. For example I think I read something about an invention called Ghost Widows Emprace which will add a chance of give psi-damage to any negative damage attack it's slotted with. But how do you make these inventions? Well, this is where the players of CoV is separated like the Red Sea Confused

In order to create an invention, you need special salvage. Some people think this will lead to farming, where you camp a certain spawn of mobs or do the same mish over and over just for a random drop of rare salvage. The inventions can be created at the University at Cap au Diable, and we will also get an auctionhouse, The Black Market, where we can put salvage up for sale. The Devs belive that this might actually give us something to use our inf for Shocked

And there is more than just enhancements which we can create! We will also be able to make new cossieparts (for example, there is like 7 or 8 sets of wings up for grabs). That's pretty much all I can think of. Invention will hopefully give our lvl 50's something to do, other than running around LRSF, farming HO's.

Am not sure its a good thing anyway TBH. Yeah OK gives the 50's summit to do apart from the 'oh so very sad' constant farming of the LRSF but is the really gona enhance the game any? I think morphing powers will be a mistake (gonna ened up with even more muppets who dont know what their powers do - and Gods help anyone who screws up dark miasma) and do we really 'need' any form of crafting anyway? We're heroes not medieval knights or Ewoks (well most of us - maybe Nick.....) We were unique in MMO terms before but we're slowly becoming just like all the rest. Personally I think they screwed up with salvage before so are trying to dream up something. And the Forum-sceptics are like that about everything dont pay any attention to them Nessa. Its always the same ppl - they wanted Drek banned, they wanted stalkers nerfed, they dont want base raids blah de blah *sigh*

Oh and that scratching you can hear in the background on test is the Gold Farmers waiting to get in.........you know their coming......

Yeh, not too sure about the whole invention thing. Making costume parts sounds a bit none-villain like lol. The whole thing of salvage was kind of pointless really. Oh well should be fun to see what the devs can come up with though.

It's on test now. I think it will hit live within a week or two, unless some major bug is found that is.
